The Reactive ThermoFluidics Lab
Advance the science and technology of energy conversion, propulsion, and energy storage, with a commitment to minimizing environmental impact.
Our research focuses on both fundamental and applied studies in combustion, chemical kinetics, and fluid dynamics. We also pursue the development of advanced power generation cycles and novel fuel production technologies, with an emphasis on high efficiency and sustainability.
Welcome

Assistant Professor Andy Thakwo
Head of the Reactive Thermofluidics Lab in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technion. His research interests include deflagration-to-detonation transition (DDT), cool and warms, and plasma-assisted combustion and manufacturing. His work combines experimental and theoretical approaches to advance fundamental understanding and technological applications in advanced propulsion and energy systems. Dr. Thakwo holds a Ph.D. from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and he conducted his postdoctoral research at Princeton University
